Mr Simpson, Official Assignee, referring vesterdav to the case of the business of Norrow and Co., which had: been placed in Iris hands for liquidation, said, that it was the worst case of the kin* he had ever known. Francis Rowe was the only member of tbe firm, who attended. The creditors were mamly jewellers. Xovrow and Co. advertised woods for sale on deposit, and it was alleged that although in. many cases monev was sent gods were, hot .forwarded, and that, in those instances inwhich goods were forwarded, they were not worth the:money paid. It was also alleged that all money had been drawn from the bank without the purchase by the firm of goods being, completed. The meeting closed, after the Assignee had undertaken, to" consult a solicitor. The Assignee told Rowe that if he attempted to leave the Dominion, it would be at his own risk.
