TRAM CRISIS.

(Peh Press Association.) Wellington. December 26. A serious crisis has been reached in connection with the city tramways. At the Council meeting last Tuesday the Counrii, In- the easting vote of the Mayor, decided to transfer to another department- an inspector whom the conductors objected to. Councillor Atkinson. however, afterwards gave notice of motion to rescind this resolution. Meanwhile the inspector lias been kept on duty, so conductors have given notice to go off duty on New Year's Day unless the inspector is removed from duty.
