WAIANAKARUA SCHOOL CONCERT.
The concert which was held in the schoolroom on. Friday night;last, was a great success. TVlessrs Cha's. Begg and Co., Oamaru, ha*d'kindly undertaken the arranging of "the concert, and they most certainly excelled; themselves, for one and all admitted "tliatjt. was the host concert;:everh£ld The perfect, andr-as a result the house was.packed,,:.so, that the school funds will benefit", to a large extent. The' programme opened by a good,,lively-:marcteby Miss Mason and Mr C. Sherwjn, piano and,cornet. Then followed"stfn'gs ,by"Miss" Mbllison (encored) ; ■'.corngf)': solo; Mr -C. Sherwin ; song, Miss Dale, : (encored) ; songVcomic, Mr W. ..Brown/(encored); .vocal duet, ;and'"Mr- 3. He- said words failed him to express thanks.to Messrs-Chas: Begg and, Co., .throughL their manager,'Mr J. HimDurg,. for the very fine concert that they had provided, and he; was voicing! the opinion of : the Committee -when he said that the ; concert was one of the' best that had lever taken place in Waianakarua, and Ihe knew perfectly'well that the' audv- ■ fiiice had enjoyed the concert very much, 1 judging- by the way they had applauded ;the:,diiferent.-perforj ; riers. ; .
