• Mr F. W. Dawson, of the Dunedin branch of the Bank of New Zealand, lias been transferred to Auckland, where he will fill the 'Capacity'"of assistant accountant. ... Sir.Robert Stout, Chancellor of the New Zealand University, has appointed Mr Vernon Redwood, formerly Mayor of Toowoomba, to represent the University at the inauguration of the new Brisbane University on the Ist June. Mr Redwod is a nephew of Archbishop Redwood, of Wellington. At the request of several renresentatives of the Labor Unions Mr B. J. Dolan. barrister and solicitor, has consented to contest the Napier sent at the general election. The other candidates will lie Mr J. Vigor Brown (the sitting member) and Mr George Nelson.
