DUNEDIN GRAIN ,AND PRODUCE REPORT.

Messrs Dalgety and, Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We held our usual weekly auction sale of grain and produce at our, stores yesterday, when .we ;offered a fair sized catalogue to a representative gathering of buyers. Competition for potatoes and chaff was slack, but for fowl wheat and other* lines there was a good demand, and a fair proportion of the catalogue was cleared at flotations. Values ruled as tmder: Oats.—There has (been a strong enquiry during the past week, and prices remain firm at last week's quotations. Good to prime Gartons and Sparrowbills are not offering freely, and are keenly sought after for filling shipping orders. Prime milling, 2s 3~d to 2s 4d; good to best feed, 2s 3d to 2s 3Jd; inferior to medium, Is lid to 2s. Id per bushel (bags extra). Wheat-—Millers are not buying freely, but all prime samples of Tuscan and velvet meet a strong enquiry from exporters, and prices remain firm with ;an upward tendency. Fowl wheat is j scarce and medium milling lines are T)eirig drawn' on to fill local requirements. ' Prime velvet, 3s s£d to 3s 6d; velvet ear and Tuscan, 3s 5d to 3s 5Jd; whole fowl feed, 3s 3d to 3s 4d; broken and damaged, 3s to 3s '2£ d per bushel (bags extra). Potatoes.—Arrivals during the past week have, been somewhat in excess of the local demand, and prices are if anything a shade easier. . Prime Dates, £4 to £4 2s 6d; extra choice, to £4 ss; niedium, £3 5s to £3 15s; inferior, £2 to'£2 15s per ton (bags in). Chaff.—Cotisignraents'are still comingin freely, and little business is p'assing. The demand, which is a very limited one, is restricted almost entirely to prime samples, discolored and inferior riots'beirig neglected.
