(Per Press Association.) Wellington, May 10. Weather summary and forecast: — Heavy rain has fallen in some parts northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and rain has commenced in other districts of the Nqrth Island, while clondy and hazy weather has spread elsewhere. High easterly winds have prevailed northwards of East Cape and Kawhia. and variable winds generally. The present indications are for the passage of a storm area over the North Island, with heavy rain on the East Coast, rivers flooded, and heavy seas- High snuth-easterlv winds are probable in the north and strong southerly winds are expected elsewhere shortly. Ram and unsettled weather is probable "onerallv, the barometer falling again shortly in the north, but rising in the south to-morrow.
