WEST COAST ENTHUSIASM.

(Per .Press Association.) Westport, May 8. At a well attended meeting held in the Town Hall this evening, the Mayor presiding, it was decided to form a westport Mounted Infantry Company. In addition to 47 who join this coinpa riv under the compulsory ages, 27 (niany of them leading citizens) handed in their names as volunteer members. The company's present strength is 74, with a probability of some 15 or 20 others joining later. It was decided to offer the services of the corps to' the Defence Department, and the names of twelve members are to be forwarded to the Department. It is understood five officers will be selected by the Department.
