THE REFERENDA.

[By. Eleoxrio Telegraph—Copyright.] (Pes Press Association.) Melbourne, April 25. / The referenda rallies took place tonight. The campaign has been strenu'r ous and fervid. It is difficult to forecast the result, but the general feeling is that whichever way it goes the majority will not be large. Probably a considerably bigger proportion than at election times, particularly of women, will abstain from polling, who while opposed to the lessening of the powers possessed by the States are. not prepared to throw their weight into the opposite scale. As usual- Labor is excellently organised and confident. The Liberals have worked extremely hard, and believe, with a majority of the newspapers, that their side will be able to carry the day against- the referenda.
