OAMARU HOSPITAL.
ANNUAL MEETING OF SUBSCRIBERS.. - The annual meeting of subscribers to the Oamaru Hospital, held last evening in the secretary's office, was not largely attended. Mr J. Mainland, chairman, presided. ■ The reports (already published) and the balance-sheet were adopted.
Mr Rose made a few comparisons between the figures as disclosed by this year's report and those of last year. The patients treated during 1909-1910 numbered .211, and'during 1910-1911, 263. The total collective days of treatment for the previous year was 5291, and for the year just closed 7167 : ; while the cost of maintenance, domestic expenses, salaries, .and administration totalled £IBBS for the former period and £7167 for the latter. £7167 for the latter. ■ The balance-sheet ■ revealed 1 an eminently satisfactory condition, of.;:affairs, a £l3O deficit of last year ;ha'yjng; >Jjeen« converted into a surplus of £172 for the year just ended, a nett'improvement of £302, due almost entirely to, the increase, of donations, together with the ■ Government subsidy thereon.'- ; ! The generous support of the public in.'. this connection was. dutly acknowledged. . .
