.' —Racing .- 'A meeting' of the. .Wainiate. Racing Club Committee was held.on. Saturday afternoon, Mr' E. C Stu'dholme in the "chair. The offer of Mr ,W. F. James .to work "the . tbtalisator on the same terms ;as before, was accepted. The 'committee'Vf . the Metropolitan Club dre\v attention to the frequency; of foul riding on'the part of jockeys, and asked the Waimate Club to assist; in putting down this breach of the ruieo. It was resolved to notify all riders that any foul riding would be severely- dealt ; with.. An application from Mr G> Fitz,gerald: for appointment as race course detective was granted'on the same terms as last year. Nine new members were elected! It was resolved 1 to sell: the privileges on the second Saturday; in Februarv, and that tenders be called for printing race cards. Accounts -amounting to £7 Is ;8d wei;ei -passed for payment and instructions given to have painting-of grand stand -put in hand at 7 pnGe.
