RAILWAY SUPERANNUATION.

(Pee Piuses Association.) Wellington, January 9. Retiring 'allowances amounting to £2278 were passed by the Government Railways Superannuation Board at its quarterly meeting to-day, the recipients being twenty-eight contributors who have reached the age limit. Payments to four widows and six children were also made, involving an annual liability of £lll, and refunds of contributions totalling £1725 were made inrespect of employees who have left the service. If a contributor dies before receiving, by way of pension, the amount lie has. paid into the funds, his representatives' are entitled to the difference, and under this rule £B4 was voted. Messrs Graham, Pepper, and Dawson having intimated that they were not seeking re-election this year a resolution of appreciation of their services to tho ■fundi was recorded.
