In the election for the Dominion Parliament., Mr Gilbert (Nationalist) defeated Mr Pcrrault (Liberal) -for the Atliabasca district, Quebec. This is a blow .to Sir Wilfrid Laurier: The campaign issue is now a Canadian navy, The French Canadians being opposed to a navy.

Sir W. Laurier carried out a strenuous campaign, realising the growing power of the Nationalists in Kreneh Canada. The general opinion is that the outlook is bad for Sir Wilfrid Laurier in.the Quebec province.
