BAND CONTEST.

(Pee Piiess Association.) Dunedin, October 20. - The first test selection ("Souvenir de Richard Wagner") was played this evening, the bands competing being the Dunedin Citizens, Invercargill, Hibernian, Kaikorni, Lyttelton Marine, Mornington, and Woolston. The playing in at least two instances was particularly fine. The attendance was exceedingly good. The result will not be known till to-morrow night, ■ when the final test selection 'TAi'rieaine" will be played. Dunedin, October 21.
