Anxiety prevails .on the Clyde and north-east" of England owing to many boilermakers being strongly opposed to the acceptance of the penalty clauses, notwithstanding that similar penalties are embodied in the rules of the Boilermakers' Society. Probably the financial position of the Society will force the majority to vote the acceptance of the agreement. Received October 18, at 9.30 a.m. London, October 17. The boilermakers are in favor of a settlement.-
