INCENDIARISM IN AUCKLAND.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, October IS. Attempts were made to burn down two shops in the Eden Terrace suburb early this morning. A kit filled with light wood saturated with kerosene was found well ablaze by two passers-by in a recess in a doorway of Hutchin's shop. I'lie flames were\iust lapping the window frames, but the threatened conflagration was averted. - About the same time another man discovered a tin of kerosene and - rags afire in. a shed adjoining Qoles' boot shop.- This he extinguished-with some difficulty.
