WAIMATE HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the above was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs F. White (Chairman), It. W. Hutt, A. Walker, X. Francis, E. Richards, E. D. Sanders, E. J. Atwill, and J. Bitchener. The surgeon's report showed that at date of last meeting there were 12 patients under treatment during the month, 15 had been admitted, 11 discharged, and there were now remaining in the institution 16 patients. The Central Hoard forwarded the Committee's by-laws, and the Department having approved of same, the Committee derided to have the by-laws printed. Miss Manders wrote that she would arrive in Waimate on the 29th and would be prepared to take up her duties on the Ist October. Miss L. Ashley applied to have her name placed on the list of applicants for the position of probationer.—lt was decided not to take any steps to appoint a fifth probationer until after the new matron takes up her duties. Mr Sanders brought up the question of the whole Committee visiting the hospital in accordance with a previous resolution. —Resolved to visit the institution on the. afternoon of the next meeting. The Visiting Committee, reported on sundry matters, and their recommendations were adopted. Accounts amounting to £l3O ()s 4d were passed for payment.
