FOOTBALL.

SEVEN-AST D'E TOURNAMENT. The seven-aside tournament was played in fine weather yesterday on the Caledonian ground, before a large attendance. The games were very exciting 'in most leases. The Excelsior Club had a day out, winning both the senior and junior grade competitions. Glenavy senior team were unable to come down, but their junior team showed good form. High School were strongly represented, having entered six teams, but their play was not up to their usual standard. The games were got off without a hitch, and a word of praise is due to Messrs Himberg, Uttley, and Faris, who were the only referees available and had a hard afternoon's work. This brings the football season to a close! and the Union are to be congratulated on having held one of the best, if not the best, seven-aside tourneys in North Otago. The following are the results: — —Junior Grade.— First Round. —Excelsior B beat School B, 8 to 0 (referee, Mr "Himberg) ; Glenavv beat School C, 11 to 0 (referee, Mr Uttley); School A beat- Excelsior A, 3 to 0 (referee. Mr Faris). Second Round. —Excelsior B beat School .A, G to (1 (Mr Faris); Ciena vy a bye. Final.—Excelsior B beat Glenavv, 5 to 0 (referee, Mr Uttley). —Senior Grade.— First Round. —Excelsior A beat School B, 11 to 0 (referee, Mr Himberg) ; Excelsior B beat School C, 6 to 9 (referee, Mir Uttley). School A a bye. Second Round.—Excelsior A beat School A, 3 to 0 (referee, Mr Himberg). Final.—Excelsior A beat Excelsior B, 9 to 0 (referee, Mr Faris). The names of the players in the winning team were: — Senior. —Excelsior A : Goodall (captain). PeiT.v, Muklrew, Watson, Rivers, Ongley, Calder. Junior. —Excelsior B : Rosie, Bateman, Eoeles, Martyn, Couper, Bain, (captain), Cottingham.
