Mr Gardiner considered the Labor Senators were treacherous lor speaking against the Government's Bill. Others claimed that it is not a party matter. After an amendment had been defeated the whole subdivision was agreed to with but one dissentient. Yass-Canberra is now safe. Received September 17, at 9.55 a.nu Melbourne, September 17. The site division was taken amid considerable excitement. The struggle throughout has been bitterly fought. Onlv one New South Wales Senator voted against the Yass-Canberra site.
