FIRES.
(Peb Press Association.) Auckland, September 15. A fire occurred at Karangahake this afternoon, wlien what is known as the Old Woodstock Battery, in which was housed part of the Talisman air compressing plant, was totally destroyed. The attorney of the Talisman Company states that a temporary but a serious stoppage of the mining operations is imperative. The stoppage of pumping meant, he sari, that the water would rise to the No. 12.level.
