PUBLIC HEALTH.

(Peii Pkess Association.) Wellington, August 24. Twenty clergy men, representing all the churches in the city, accompanied by six doctors, had a private conference with the Minister of Justice this morning to discuss amendments in the Public Health Act in the direction' of making certain provisions in that Act applicable to venereal diseases. The conference lasted two hours. The Minister declined to make a definite statement, hut said that while no definite conclusions were arrived at there was unanimous recognition of the need of statutory provision, and;substantial agreement as to certain means.
