ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Wangaiuii, May 22. Daniel Bayley, a very old resident of Taranaki and YVanganui, died suddenly as tho result of apoplexy early on Sunday morning. Deceased, wlio was 75 years old, carao to New Zealand when about live years of age, his family residing jn Taranaki. 11 e has been a settler in the Wangaiuii district for over 30 .years.
Wellington, May 22. _ James Russell, a married man residing at Northland, while rabbiting at Makara. yesterday, was accidentally shot in.the right side below the kidneys, and liis condition is rather serious.
The condition of Mrs Head, run. over by a motor-car on Friday, is serious. A lad named Henry Pearson, aged nine, residing at Kaiwarra, was badly scorched about the face yesterday while playing with some powder. He was admitted to the Hospital,
