Royal Messages.. Received May 11, at 10.15 p.m. , London, May 11. King.George, after acknowledging the: homage done to him by the princes and people of India, adds: "The prosperity, and happiness of India will always be to.me of the highest interest and cern as they were to the late KingEmperor and Queen-Empress before me." King George, in a message to the Navy, expresses his gratitude for its faithful services to his father. He recalls his 33 years' service in the Navy, and says his intimate participations in its life and work enables him to feel how thoroughly lie can depend on its spirit of loyalty and zealous devotion, whereof the glorious history of the Navy is the outcome. He knows the Navy will ever continue to be the foremost defender of the country's honor, and adds: "It's fortunes will always be followed by me with deep feelings of pride and affectionate interest." King George, in a message to the Army, sajs: "My beloved father always was closely associated with the Army by ties of strong personal attachment, and I express to all ranks gratitude for their gallant and devoted services to him. I shall watch, over your interests and .efficiency with the keenest solicitude, and rely on that spirit of loyalty and devotion which at all times has animated, and been; a •proiid tradition in the Army."
