THE FITZROY EXPLOSION.

REMARKABLE RESULTS. [By Electric Telecraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association,). Rccei ved March 22, at 10 a.m. Melbourne, March 22. The noise of the Fitzrov explosion was heard several miles away. A column of vari-colored flame shot into the air to a height estimated at 500 feet. Iron verandah pillars were twisted and thrown across the street, while debris of all descriptions was thrown on to the roofs of adjoining premises. Two little boys in the same room from which the girl was precipitated had a perilous experience. A portion of the floor on which their bed stood remained attached to the walls and the lads awakened to find themselves on the edge of a precipice. The light of the flames enabled them to creep into a place of safety.
