M.J\, had visited Blackball on Tuesday and had attempted to persuade the men 1" rot urn to work, hut tbev had remained absolutely invincible on' the demand for the half an hour "crib" time. The men were still determined not to go back to work. Asked regarding the funds that the I'nion had in' hand'to continue the light. Mr l'rjt-,-bard stated that information would be forthcoming in due course on the point, but he bad none to give at present. At a meeting of the Christchui.il Labor Lea.'iie last nioht il was decided to send a telegram to the Blackball Minors' I'ni.ni to the effect that the telegram received .11 r.lackhall stating that the workers of Chrislcluirch wore disgusted with the action of the miners in rontinning to hold out was absolutely- untrue. The League also assured the tinners of the sympathy of its members. After correspondence from the Trad, s and Labor Council had been read, the following resolution was carried at a meet, in" of the Canterburv Carpenters' and Joiners' Cnidli. held last evening : —"That thin Cuiou make no donation to the Blackball Miners' Union, as it considers the action of the I'nion in calling its members out on strike is against the host interests of the organised workers <if this Dominion, and is calculated to bring into disrepute one of the best labor laws that have ever been passed in litis or any other country."
