PHCBNIX CLUB v. TIMARU CLUB. Three rinks of-the phcenix Bowling Club journeyed to Timaru yesterday to play the neighboring bowlers for the banner presented by the New Zealand Bowling Association for competition by the Timaru, Waimate, Oamaru, and Palmerston clubs. The members of the Oamaru Bowling Club (Meadowbank) sent three rinks to Waimate yesterday to play a, match with that club for the banner given by the New Zealand Bowling Association On leaving 'Oamaru the weather was in its worst mood from a bowler's point if view, it raining heavily at the time, but as the day wore on it got better, and by the time lunch had been indulged in the-rain had ceased and play was started, with the following result:— Rink No. 1.
