JUNCTION FORTNIGHTLY SALE,
Sheep.—About 2000 sheep -were yarded. Bidding was very stiff, but most of the lots I yarded were sold. • The following are quotations : Fat wethers (small) 13s, fat ewes 10a 9d, fart) lambs lis 6d, good store crossbred lambs from 7s lOd to 8s 4d, aged crossbred and halfbred ewes (in lamb) from 7s 6d to 8s 2d, merino wethers at 5s 7d. Cattle.—A full yarding came forward, and a healthy demand existed for all wellbred cattle. Cows in profit were in great request, and soikL at up to £B, 2 and 3-yea*r-old steers ©old from £3 to £4 10s, and other sorts at equal to lata rates. Pigs.—A small yarding came forwaid. The demand was not keeli, and a decline i in prices resulted.
SALES OP STOCK. The monthly sale at the Rolleston, Saleyards on Monday was largely attended, and the bidding for sheep and pig's was spiribed. Pat* ewes sold from lis 3d to 14b 6d, • Six months' Berkshire pigs were, knocked down at 10s. There was a yarding of about 1500 sheep at Washdyte yasteirday. There was a very poor attendance of buyers, bidding was very slow and hardly any sales were effected. Very forward 2-tooth ewes and wethers sold ait 15s 2d; 2-tooth fat ewes, 14s. Miloli cows sold up to £B. At Ashburton yards .yesterday there was a fair yarding of stock, and a good attendance. The sale was very irregular with regard to prices, and bidding- was slack. The following are some of the prices obtained : —Fat cattle: Heifers £5 17s 6d to £8 7s 6d, steers £3 ,to £4 2s 6d, cows £4 to £5 2s 6d. Store cattle: Dairy cows £5 17s 6d, from. 18 months to 20 months old £2 17s 6d to £3, springers £5 5s to £5 10s, dry cows £4 2s 6d, calves 30s, two-year-old steers £3 10s to £4 lis. Fat sheep : Forward .crossbred ewes from 5s 3d to 12s, crossbred wethers 16s 9d, merino ewes 5s 4d to 7s 4d, merino wethers 5s lOd, lambs 7s 6d, freezing ewes for export 12s to 16s lOd, freezing .lamibs 10s 3d to 13s Id, freezing wethers 14s Bd. Store sheep : Forward wethers 9s lOd to lis 2d, merino ewes 3s to 6s, crossbred ewes 10s 9d, crossbred lambs 9s 6d.
