A meeting of tho Waimahe Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on .Satin-day in the County Hall. There ware nearly 40 members present. The president (Mr i-lertsktt) occupied the choir. The annual report and financial statement for the year ended March 31st, 1902, were read and adopted. The report, was considered highly satisfactory. Classes were increased from 175 to 200, and the prize money from £262 to £325 as compared with, the previous year, while the entries numbered 572 as against 557. The special prizes awarded amounted to £BO in value as against £64 tho previous veur, and prize money was £209 9s as against £157. There are now 138 members on the rail, 16 hn.vilig been gaiircd and 8 withdrawn during the year. There is room for considerable increase of members, and the source of supply being sufficiently large, it 3s hoped there will soon bo a larae addition to (he number for tho .incoming year. Important improvements were made to the show grounds during the year at mi expenditure of £SB. There was a mm of £2 18s Id in hand and £l6 owing to the Association. The Committee appointed to collect 'exhibits for Dunedin Winter Show have been actively employed, and the re-appointment «f Committee was recommended. Thanks we're voted to tho retiring president and Committee. The election of officers was then proceeded with, the result being—Mr N. Francis, president; Mr G. Miller, vice-president (two ; nominated); Mr D. P. M'Lean, treasurer; ' Messrs Hertslett, Studholme, Orbell, Mitchell," Ward, Saunders, M'Goverin, M'Gowan, Beckett, Douglas, W. Dunbar, and Morgan, members of Committee (18 nominated). A vote of thanks and honorarium, were given to Mr C, Akhurst as secretary and a vote of thanks and honorarium far service as auditor to Mr G. V. Cochrane. A.t the Police Court yeeterady, before Messjs Xicol and Colt-man, J.P.'s, two men, first offenders, were charged with being drunk on the evening of the 7th instant and were fined 5s each. A man named P. Mulcainey was charged with having committed a breach of the peace on the 7th 'mutant, and also with assaulting Constable Christie while in the execution of his duty. Recused was fined £5 on conviction for each offence or one imprisonment, the sentences to be cumulative.
