Wilks, plaintiff allegod that defendant owed him LlO6 on a land transaction. Defendant swore that ho held a bona fide receipt In full for tho amount, but tho S.M. gave judgment for plaintiff. He consldored tho reoolpt forgod and a proseoution should follow for fabricating evidence. In the oaat against the licensee of the Kumeroa Hotel for keeping his premises open all tho witnesses except one swore thoy did not purchase drink. The Magistrate hold that no drink may have been Bold. Tho landlord did not treat the men aa guests, but for tho purpose of keeping his businoss together. He was fined 40a and costs 7s. For Sunday trading ho was finod 40a und ooeta £4 16a.
