DAMARU RACECOURSE.
TO TTIE EDITORS' IK, — In reading over the locals in your paper last evening I noticed one referring to the racecourse gate entrance. I quite agree with you that it was a disgrace to the Club "But let m? tell you that the course itself was far more of a disgrace than the entrance at ihe gate. I would suggest that our secretary take L 25 a year for his work and spend the other L 25 on the course, say for three years. It snoull be fecced right away on the inside, then ploughed and laid down in grass for the winter Then the Club may expect better entries from outside owners. In such a bad state as it is now—full of ruts, sheep tracks, mSdholes, etc.— owners wiil not enter their horses, or come to such a rough hard course. I trust the Club will take the hint and attend to the course and entrance gate before another meeting comes off. I am sorry for the necessity of having to draw your & stent ion to the course. I am, etc., Contractor.
