MAIL NOTICE.
Mails close at the chief Post Office, Oamaru (subject to any necessary alterations) as under:— For Northern ports, overland daily, at 2.30 p.m. Late letters mail van north express, at 3 p.m. Fbiday, 26tii Mabch. For Wellington, New Plymouth, and Greymouth, per Herald at 2.30 p.m. For Wellington, Picton, Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth, per Brunner, at 2.30 p.m. For Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, per Flora, at 2.30 p.m. Satubday, 27th Mabch. For Wellington, per Penguin, at 2.30 p.m. Monday, 29th Mabch. For Australian Colonies, United Kingdom, asd Europe, also India, China, Hong Kong, and Japan, per Talune, (via Bluft and Hobarl), at 6 30 a.m. Correspondence for the United Kingdom need not be specially addressed. This mail is due at London on May 11th.
The Talune will connect with the Aberdeen Liner Thermopylae, leaving Melbourne about April sth, and conveying mails for South Africa, and due Capetown about April 2Sth
Mails for Chatham Islands close at Christchurch on April Ist. Mails for Norfolk Island and the New Hebrides leave Sydney on April 7th The rate of postage on papers to Queensland is now Id for the first 4ozs and Jd for each additional 2ozs, The nexG mail for South Africa will leave Melbourne ahout April sth. Due at Capetown about April 2Sth. The next direct steamer will be the Gothic, which leaves Wellington on Ist April, and is due iu 1 ondon on May 12. Mails for Baratonga and Tahiti per Upolo, close at Auckland on 14th April, at 4 p.m.

For Waiarcka, daily at 4 p.m. For Weston, Eniieid, and Windsor, daily at 6.30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
