CnmsTCHUECH, January 18, At a meeting of operative carpenters and joiners the following resolution was unanimously carried : " That this meeting of operative carpenters and joiners considers that the time is opportune for securing an advance in the rate of wages paid in the trade." It was further decided to give employers a month's notice that at the expiration of that time the current rate of wages would be 10s per day, and to request them to reply withjjx a fortnight as to whether they accepted the amended scale.
