DUNEDIN MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report for the week ended July 3 as follows : Fat Cattle.—l7S head were yarded. The demand was steady, and prices were about on a par with last week. Best bullocks brought from L 8 10s to LlO 17s 6d ; medium quality, LQ 10s to L 8; best cows - and heifers, L 6 10s to L 7 173 6d; medium and inferior, IA 10s to L 6. Fat sheep.—3773 of all sorts were penned. Prices showed a drop of from Is 61 to 2s a hjad as compared with last week, and had it not been for the number bought for freezing a further reduction would have had to be submitted to. All forward were crossbrerls, and s Id at—for best wethers, 13s to lis 6d ; medium, lis to Ss 6d ; best ewes. 12s 9d to 10s Gd ; medium ewes, 10s to 7s 6d. Wheat.—The market is about the same ss last week. Sales are easily enough made. It appears pretty certain that there will be no retrogade movement here. Quotations are : Velvet, 33 lid to 4s ; TuseaD, 3s lOd to 3s lid : red wheat, 3s 9d to 3s lOd ; fowl wheat, scarce, and brings almost milling prices. Red wheat is worth up to 4s, according to quality and condition. Oats.—After a slight lapse last week matters have again improved, and at auction bidding was keen and prices show a general return to late prices, viz.: Sutherlan i and prime milliDg, Is 9d to Is lOd; best feed, Is 7id to Is Sid, medium and inferior, Is 6Jdtols7kl. Barley. —Business is restricted, and sales are hard to effect, but the scarcity of fowl wheat tend* to harden values. Prime malting, 2s 6d to 2s 9d ; medium, 2s 3d to 2s 5d ; inferior, 2s to 2s Id. ■ Pigs.—llo were penned. Prices were again in favor of buyers. Suckers, 5s to 6s; slips, 7s to 9s Gd; stores, 12s to 16s; porkers, 18s to 22s 6d; baconers, 25s to 355; a few extra heavy, from 39s to 40s.
