An elderly uian, over 70, named George Frame, was killed at 4.40 this .afternoon while passing over the railway crossing in Sale-street, alongside the gasworks. Deceased saw a train coming and ni.idos rush across the line, evidently thinking to get across before the train reachoil liim, but he was caught by the cowcatcher mid thrown aside. He was so much injured about the head that he died as soon as ho was taken to his house close by. Deceased was the father of the well-known architect Mr D. B. Frame. Tlio crossing is a dangerous one, being in the midst of a closely-populated part of Napier, this is not the first- accident that lias happened there, though the first 011 C-"
