Tho following are tho results : Second Hurdles. About two miles. Grandson, 9st 51b ... ... 1 Fog, lOst 111b ... ... ... 2 Ivillai'iiey, lOst 7lb ... ... 3 Thirteen horses started. Betting—s to 1 against Yabba, o to 1 Ivillarney, 8 to 1 Grandson and Fog. A good start was effected. Grandson took the lead at the seven furlong post, which he maintained to tho straight, where Vanguard assumed command, followed closely by Grandson and Yabba. The latter fell at the hurdle in the straight, and Grandson, coining again, cut down the leader, and won by a bare head from Fog, who, with Ivillarney, came very fast down tho straight. Time, 3min 9Asec. Montroso 11. and Bella also fell, and Williams, tho rider of the former, and Kemp, who had the mount on Bella, wcro both badly injured, the latter being in a critical condition.
Craven" Plate. One mile and a quarter. Marvel (Harris) ... ... ... 1 Megaphone (Power) ... ... 2 Melos (Gainsford) 3
Of the 19 horses oil the card, Sir William was the only other one to face the starter. Betting—7 to 2on Marvel, 4to 1 against Megaphone, anything the other pair. On the fall of the flag, Sir William was the first to move, with Melos and Marvel next, Megaphone bringing up tho rear. This order was maintained all along the back of thf. course, but, as the sheds wore approached, the field closed up, and began to race, Marvel (showing the way into the straight, closely followed by Megaphone, who joined tho favorite afc the distance post. A splendid race ensued, the pair racing home neck and neck. Marvel gaining the judge's verdict by half a neck. Time, 2min 4sec. Suburban" Handicap. Seven furlongs. Hero, lOst 1 Garuda, 7st ... ... ... 2 Realm, Sst 111b ... ... ... 3
Twenty horses started. Betting—o to 2 against Hero and Realm, 12 to 1 Garuda and any other. Garuda was the first away, and led for five furlongs, whoro Melba took up the running. At the distance, Hero came with a rush, and won easily by three lengths. Time, lmin 29scc.
Second Foai, Stakes. One mile and a, quarter. Oxide (Nerricker) ... ... 1 Stromboli (Huxley) ... ... 2 Sunshine (Schaafer) ... ... 2
Brftscuo.se and Bengal also started. Oxide and Stromboli each carried a 71b penalty. Betting—7 to 4- on Stromboli, 3 to 1 against Oxide, 4 to 1 Sunshine. From an even start, Oxide went, away with the lead, but was overhauled by Bengal before reaching Oxcnhani's. At the one-mile post Stromboli was in front, with the others handy. A little further on, Bengal was again taken to tho front, but at the half-mile post he gave place to tho favorite, and foil away last. Oxide, at this time, was gradually improving liis position, and in the next furlong was at the girths of Stromboli, and a great race ensued. The Derby winner fairly held his own to the distance, but eventually tho game son of Sardonyx wore him down, and won a good race by half a length. Time, 2min 16sec. Wycombe Stakes. One mile and three furlongs. Bimgebah (Gainsford) 1 Aster (Moran) ... 2 Albemarle (Huxley) ... t> ... 3
The other starters were—Patrol, Norbert, Gatling, and Buttons. Betting—s to 4 011 Bungebah, 2 to 1 against Albemarle, 12 to 1 Aster. Buttons and Albomarle led to the six furlongs post, when the former went to the front, followed by Bungebah, and in that order they entered the "straight. When fairly turned for home, Bungebah pushed to the front, and won very easily. Norbert was fourth, Gatling fifth, and Buttons last. Time, 2 in in SOisec, Sydney Handicap. One mile and a half. Cobham, Sst 71b ... ... ... 1 Jack, Bst 2 Palliscr, 7st ... ... ... 3 Thirfeen started. Betting—6 to 4 against Magnus, 8 to 1 Cobham, 10 to 1 Palliser and Retort. Palliscr was ill front as the field passed the stand the first timo, and held liis position to Oxenham's, when Easy John deposed him, and took the field along for five furlongs. At the half-milo postthe field closed up, but in the next furlong Cobham came through, ana was never again headed, winning by a third of a length, five lengths separating Jack and Palliser. Time, 2niin 38sec.
