Ohau, 8,3., for Anckland, via East Coast ports, en Friday, ISth inst. There were no arrivals at or departures from our port to-day. COMMERCIAL. MELBOURNE MARKETS. The following is the National Mortgage and Agency Company's produce market report, dated Melbourne, 7th September, 1891: Feeding Grains.—Victorian oats have a little better demand and prices are about Id higher for fair and good feed, while milling have good demand at up to 33. Good Algerians are wanted at about 2s to 2s Id. The bearer brought about 1500 bags New Zealand oats, nearly 1000 of which were for milling ; the balance having been offering a*; 2s under bond with but little success so far, and less money may have to be taken to quit them. Maize is now arriving freely and the market is tumbling; price is still relatively higher than other feed and consignees are all anxious to quit. We quote 3s 9d downwards according to condition. Peas quiet but steady .at 2s sd, -with prospect of an early improvement. Cape barley, Is lid to 2s. Bran and pollard, scarce and firm, at I3d per bushel. Wheat.—Holders firm at as 6d; millers holding off contenting themselves with any second quality offering at from 5s to 5s 4d ; fowls' wheat, 4s Sd to 4s lOd. Flour.—Stone, Lll to Lll 10s; roller, Ll2 to Ll2 10s. Barley is in better demand, one of our largest malting houses having been burnt out last week, losing a large stock of malt and barley. We quote good samples at 3s 3d; medium, 33 to 3s Id ; common to fair, 2s 6d t« 2s lOd ; feed, 2s to 2s 2d. Ryegrass.—Small inquiry, at up to 5s 9d, for good clean samples. Cocksfoot. —Nominally, 5d to sid. Flax.—We have cleared all our consignments at from Ll7 to L2l 10s for common to prime fibre. Potatoes.—Supplies rather heavy the last •week, and prices have suffered all round. New Zealand Derwents, 55s to 57s 6d, duty paid ; Tasmanian, 75s to 77s 6d, duty paid ; Victorian, 35s to 555. The wharves anil railways are literally lined with potatoes, and even at quotations for Tasmanian there is a small loss to importers. Cheese.—Victorian, 6d to 7d.
