(by telegraph.) Auckland, June 13. ( News from Fiji, perTaupo, reports a disastrous fire at Suva tn the 21st ult. ' The damage is L 30.000. In entire block of buildings, occupied b; the leading ] commercial men of the town, was destroyed - ■with valuable stock; The origin ! of the fire is a mystery. It started in - Mark Company's store and sprad towards ] the Beach Post Office. The Customshouse bonded stores narrowly reaped. Messrs H. Marks and Co. are the L.aviesfc losers, their losses, outside insurance, being L 13,600. Stuart's Suva Hotels destroyed at a loss of L 2500, and Brodiac Company's loss is L 2900, while oth>rs have sustained considerable losses. T\e insurances are : Hamburg-Magedburj. L 140 0; New Zealand, L 1525 ; Imperial; L 82 0; Northern, LIOOO ; South British,! Ll6O ; Hanseatic, L 1525 ; Transatlantic, L 3400. Unsecured losses are about L2OOO. The crew of H.M.S. Cordelia rendered splendid services at the fire.
