Police Persecution ?
KVOU don't want to persecute a • •'* driver." These were the words used by Magistrate Bundle at the Dunedin Magistrate's Court • when charges were brought against . several local motorists for failing to carry their licenses with them. In one instance a well-known Dunedin motorist was held up and asked for his license. Tapping his coat pocket, he thought he had forgotten his poc-ket-book and remarked: "OK, the license isjin my pocket-book at the office." Subsequently, he discovered the license m his pocket.' Lawyer A. G. Neill pointed out that this could scarcely be .termed • a breach, and following the remarks from the Bench the remaining charges were withdrawn.
