-At the Empress this week Fred Thomson, Tom Mix's new rival, will make his first appearance m "The Dangerous Coward," with his sagacious horse, "Silver King." Fred Thomson is a handsome young man, with a fine physique, and a remarkable record. As for v "Silver King," his intelligence, acting ability and acrobatic stunts put human players to shame. "The Dangerous Coward" is the first of this series to be screened and includes a thrilling four-round fight between Thomson and Al Kauffman, former heavyweight champion. A strong, virile story combined with delicious humor, makes excellent entertainment. Also screening is a Snub Pollard comedy, "California or Bust," a novelty cartoon comedy, "Rip Without a Winkle," a scenic magazine arid the topical budget.
