NEMESIS FOR NAUGHTY NESBIT.
Norman Paul Nesbit, a 17-year-old man, came m for special mention — ■ of the wrong sort — when he faced the Bench about breaking and entering a couple of houses set back among the gardens of Palmerston North. For a lad of 17 years, his Honor opined, Nesbit had far too bad a history. He had started off m 1919 and had been ordered to come -up 1 for sen^ tence when called upon. Three months later he was convicted on four charges of theft and found himself at Weraroa. He did not stay long, for he was hardly inside the gates when he broke away and looked into someone's place. He was sent back, but left and ran into four charges of theft at Palmerston. Back he went once more, to early rising and the other delights of farm work, and out he came once again and turned to Palmerston, where the two visits brought •> to light a wristlet watch, a few odds and ends worth money; and £8 10s m real hard cash. Nesbit expressed the hope that he would live a straight life m future, but the Bench did not seem a, bit im-« pressed. ' Three years' reformative.
