Taking all things into consideration, the Federal Government's "cut" must amount to about 20 per cent, of the prize money. The Tasmanian State Government collects a stamp duty of 4d on each 5s ticket, . besides taxes on the profits. On top pf this a prize winner m New Zealand has to pay taxation.
