Government Sweating of Bath Attendants. "One of 'Km," a bath attendant at pampered Rotorua, sends along his sample of tho Masscy Government's "Square Deal" to workers, also an advertisement from a Rotorua paper, which sots forth that applications are invited for the position of bath attendant ttt Kotorua- The age of the applicant (male) must bo between Zi and 10, and his salary to commence will be £S0 per annum (It does not set forth tho giddy heights to which the aforesaid attendant might roach). "One of 'Em" points out that but of this £80 per annum a deduction Is mado for the superannuation fund. We also states, m fairness to tho Government, that a suit of uniform is provided and also, that an extra pair of pants is thrown m, on top of the 80 "Jim." In tho town the attendant getting £80 per annum has to pay -£1 per week for board and lodging, and everything Is dear, and as the attondantH arc mostly cripples, it would appear that the "Square Deal" Governmont is sweating tho cripple and paying him a starvation rate of wages.
