forward than a boxer, was up against a serious proposition m Pooley. He had a bit of weight m his favor, but was three inches shorter than Albert. In the first round Pooley, who is somewhat like Jim Halt > ■^iaJfig^a^r^aaor^-and-rsmal^nesST of head and fajpe, after peppering Sharp with a long left, swished the fight across Jiiri's left lead and knocked htm kicking. It was a fair beauty that burst Jim's lug and drew the ruby freely. - He got up at three, but didn't know much about what was doing, and Pooley was not too hard on him for a few seconds. Then he seemed to remember that it was a fight arid not a spar, and poor Jim-had a tough time of it and a norphul one m the second, leaving off incarnadined and dazed. In the third Pooley slammed a terror of a right to the chin and Sharp went down and out . r; .:'.-. ; There is no question but" that Albert Pooley is a likely man. He is : b'elow^.his normal weight, through' climaiic^" Influences and hard work in -campi but/fbuilt up again and then systematically;;trained for a fight, I fully believe that th> ( .. tall young Aucklander will be found among the very front-rankers ere long. He starts with two . great recommendations: | absolute fearlessness and hard hitting.' ! He is young, ambitious, a clean liver, and m good hands, those of the astute and clever Mick Dunnr Surely a suitable opponent can be found for Pooley m a ! real fight He has shown so well that he would now be quite a good attraction.against a decent vis avis.
