OWNER AND TRAINER.

Mr D. Hogg, barrister and solicitor, of Wanganui, writes "Truth" :— "I have been instructed by Mr A. Attwood to write you with respect to a certain paragraph which appeared m your issue of the Ist instant, which is as follows :— 'lt is stated m sport circles that there has been a bust-up between the Wanganui owner, W. Tucker, and the Feilding trainer, Attwood, and the result will probably be a change of stables for Tucker's horses.' The above statement is without the slightest foundation, as Mr Attwood is still training for Mr Tucker. Furthermore, I have Mr Tucker's assurance that there never has "been any disagreement between himself and his trainer." "Truth" is very pleased to learn that there is no foundation m tho rumor regarding Messrs Attwood and Tuok-cr, and exceedingly regrets any annoyance that may have been caused either sporting gentleman by the publication of such gossip. "Truth" forwards Mr Hogg a guinea, his. costs m the matter.
