Magistrate Bishop, on Monday, showed pardonable curiosity, about the matter. Who was Thomas ? The clerk recollected that Kent had „■ been charged before the court with disobeying an order to maintain iiis legal missus,, but this added mystery to the circumstance that he had Svealth at his command. "He must have got the money for some purpose,", said his Worship, who commented. upon the extreme good luck of Thomas m finding his cash intact after a spree. He was ordered to pay 20s of it to the State, or- languish for 48 hours m the Lyttellon jug.
