An exchange draws attention to an "indication," thus :— "The peculiar manner m which a newspaper can "fall m" under the restrictions of the Gamins Act was shown by an up-country paper, a few days ago. The paper m publishing a local mentioned some persons who had attended a meeting and won, stating that after a certain race they walked from .the course "jingling si? golden sovereigns and ei'.rht silver shillings'" This sentence is interpreted as an infringement, of thr law, though the paper, no doubt, published the figures is all innocence."
