There is considerable • perturbation (says a Dannevirke* paper) amongst the milk suppliers at the Umutaoroa Block just now, over the advent of. ! a Celestial who has recently settled among them, and desires to supply milk to the factory. The Chinaman m question, it appears, has taken up a farm and stocked it with cows, and' a few mornings ago he appeared at the factory with his cans of milk. After inspection his contribution was accepted by the manager, and all appeared to be going well with the Celestial when the chairman of directors -arrived on the scene and issued an order that no more milk I was to be accepted from the Chinaman. This action, we '.nderstafd. is not endorsed by several of the otl'er directors, who contend that the nucstion which they have !o ronsidpr is not one of nationality of rho supplier, but whether the milk is clean and fit for manufacture.
