PRIZE-GIVING
. MRS MENARD’S PUPILS. The annual prize-giving entertainment of Mrs Menard’s pupils took place oh Saturday evening in the Kent terrace Hall, during which two enjoyable short plays were given by the juniors, songs and recitations by Miss B. Coy ; and Messrs L. Anderson and L., Muir were also given. Before calf ing upon Mrs James Hieldp to present the prizes,, Mrs Menard read a report on the year’s work done by the pupils. Mrs Hislop then presented the certificates and medals won bv pupils at this year’s competitions, which showed the high standard acquired. .Prizes were as follow:—Elocution medalist and Mrs Hislop’s special prize, Miss Mavis Windsor; intermediate, Queeuio McLean; junior, Roma Topp. Elocution, olaas A.—Eunice Scott, Joan Parfit, Thelma Bartholomew. Class B. —Doris Glover, Mary O’Neil Class 111. —Thelma Mason, Betty Day. . Boys’, medallist.—Lawrence Searle; specinl, Errol Muir. Class A.—lst, Cedric Muir. Class B—lna Watte, Ist. Junior —Jim Osborne Ist. Improvement, A.-—Cedric Mentiplay, Stanley Harrison, Ronald Witeombe. B.—Elliot Maxwell, Billy Glover, Gordon Sim; special, Joan Raine. Singing—Mavis Windsor, senior; Queeme McLean, intermediate; Eunice Soott, Roma Topp.. junior. Boys’ senior: . Cledrio Muir; intermediate, Cedric Mentiplay; junior, Jim Osborne and EUiot Maxwell.
