RAILAGE ON BUTTER
COMPANIES COMPLAIN. Per Prps? Vssn'dation PALMERSTON N., November 11. A meeting of the executive of, the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies’ Association resolved to form a deputation to the Railway Board regarding the concessions for tho railage of butter over long distances. It was stated that the local companies were paying 3Jd per mile to Wellington, while the Waikato rate was ljd. This was robbing the local companies of the market in Wellington.
