BIGAMY ADMITTED

AN UNUSUAL EXCUSE COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, November 11. An unusual excuse for committing bigamy was made in the Magistrate’s Court to-day by Joseph William Henrv Darke. He said the mother of the girl with whom he went through a second form of marriage offered to set him up in business and pressed him into the marringe. Darke married in Wales, and went to sea in order to leave his wife and children. He went through a form of marriage with Margaret Ross in Christchurch in 1922, describing himself as a bachelor. Darke pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence.
