THE BALLET OF THE RAINBOW

Early one morning the sun called all his subjects round hil golden bed. These are some of his subjects—the white fluffy clouds, the pink clouds, the grey clouds, the orange clouds, the black thunder-clouds, and the golden clouds—the rainbow fairies, too, the stars and their keepers, the moon and the man in the moon and the moon fairies. And this is what he said : “This is the order I will send you. First you. White Clouds, and then you, Pink Clouds, shall slowly take their place. Next you, Pink Clouds, will fade away, and the Orange Clouds will take your place. Slowly these will change to you, Grey Clouds, and from you to the Golden Clouds, and these will change back to the White Clouds, which afterwards will clear away. You, Thunder Clouds, will not go till I tell you. Now, away and to your tasks, for I will soon be rising.” Away scurried the clouds and soon were performing their tasks. The rainbow fairies were polishing and rubbing the gems of the Rainbow, for, as you know, the Rainbow is comprised of a number of gems which have to be cleaned every day. Oh, how it sparkled! Some fairies were counting the money in the golden jar at the end of the Rainbow to see if it was all there for the fortunate person who finds it. So if you get up very early one roorning.you will see the clouds scurrying to their work. And if you see the Rainbow try to find the end, because if you do you will get a pot of money!
